Sessions involve a client sharing what is on their mind, with an invitation to track their own experience. Therapy begins with an exploration of what clients want for themselves in therapy, and in our time together. The work may include exploration of relationship patterns, family histories, acute trauma experiences, cultural messages, and physical symptoms. Oftentimes it includes making more overt the messages we tell ourselves (self-judgement, criticism, shame, etc), with the understanding that those self-messages developed in response to needs not being met in our lives. Megan invites observation of any thoughts, images, or feelings that arise, and assist clients to notice and track their experience, calling attention and awareness to what we might not be so aware of.
